He embeds these lessons into his directorial work, focusing on rich lighting and highlighting humanity. Douglas prioritises exceptional details in his films, exaggerating colour, styling aesthetic and building momentum so that brand messages stand out. With a body of work across commercials and music videos – for the likes of Arlo Parks, Nego Bala and Gregory Porter and scoring a 2019 Cannes Lions Grand Prix and Gold at Ciclope Latino – Douglas balances realism against his magical visuals to create a lasting effect.
