Kiku Ohe is a Japanese-Australian filmmaker working internationally across a wide range of film, commercial and narrative storytelling projects. A versatile and award-winning filmmaker, Kiku effortlessly traverses genres and themes, telling his stories and eliciting performances with rare finesse and sensitivity. He recently directed a major brand film for Qantas, updating the iconic ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ campaign featuring a diverse, star-studded cast of contemporary Australians. The stirring film taps into a love for home, a love of place and a love of Australian people. Previously Kiku has captured epic, modern luxury for Louis Vuitton and celebrated humanity at a very personal level for Johnnie Walker.
His absorbing longer form narrative work includes his award winning feature film ‘The Lines’. Finding an elemental power in nature, along with his musical background, Kiku’s filmmaking always awakens the senses. But it is his skills in storytelling, casting and crafting authentic performances that are constant, driving his aesthetic choices, making his films ring true.
