Biography

Rhys Thomas is an Emmy award-winning director and producer best known for creating cult favorite, Documentary Now! and his work on Saturday Night Live. Hailing from South Wales, Rhys has carved out a place on the American comedic landscape thanks to his elevated and cinematic approach to the absurd. As well as directing over 100 short films for SNL; he also crafted the comedy institution’s opening title sequence for its 40th anniversary; produced Adele’s Radio City concert and crafted the critically acclaimed Amazon show, Comrade Detective with A24.  Most recently, Rhys journeyed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directing and executive producing the six part series, Hawkeye, for Disney +.
