Stink Sao Paulo scoops double Grand Prix and AICP win

Huge congratulations to Douglas Bernhardt and Squarehead who are both Grand Prix winners! Douglas’ music video ‘Bluesman’, a beautiful portrait of Rio life through the eyes of a gregarious young man, won the top prize at Ciclope Latino. Squarehead added yet more accolades to his impressive awards haul for Endless Stories for Getty Images. This fascinating short created entirely from library footage about the night Ali fought Frazier won Advertising Excellence/International at AICP and the Grand Prix at Wave Festival! Both directors also picked up 6 pencils at D&AD between them. BRAVO! The Getty story now continues...The follow up, Coma, a fictional TV series also created from library footage is released this week.

Stink releases powerful Royal Opera House film THE RITE

Stink Films has signed award-winning Slovakian filmmaker and director Adam Csoka Keller to its global roster, marking the partnership with the launch of an exceptional short film, ‘THE RITE’. Created in collaboration with the Royal Opera House and Nowness, it captures the passionate and primal culmination of dance troupe Culture Device’s residency. The first dance troupe of its kind, Culture Device is a group comprised solely of extraordinary dancers with Down Syndrome. Starring actress Sara Gordy MBE, the piece marks the 106th anniversary of Stravinsky’s scandalous work The Rite of Spring. Encapsulating the revolutionary spirit of the original and the Ballet Russe, it aims to challenge perceptions of what classical ballet can be.

FoodFilm have signed to Stink Films London and Asia. The genius behind the hugely successful ‘Adventures in Imagination’ for M&S, and some further 60 films for the brand, they created the ‘food porn’ style the retailer became famous for. Widely recognized as global pioneers of modern food filmmaking and photography, their work is a sensorial feast for the eyes, full of colour, texture and movement. From Martini to Milka, Picard to Carte Noire, every ingredient fizzes, oozes or crumbles mouthwateringly dancing across the screen. Now, as well as with food, they increasingly work with luxury, perfume and cosmetics, taking this skill to a more conceptual level, crafting visual metaphors for product attributes for the likes of Neutrogena, Decleor, Garnier or l’Oreal.

Stink Films has earned the title of 2019 Film Production Company of the Year at New York Festivals thanks to winning top prizes across multiple campaigns, categories and offices. Squarehead’s 'Endless Stories' for Getty Images out of Sao Paulo won in Film and Artistry in Craft and Advertising, FOX Networks ‘Who?' directed by Nacho Gayan won Branded Content for the LA office, Traktor’s ‘Worst Song in the World’ for Monoprix was awarded to Stink Paris for film craft, and Stink Films London picked up the top award in social media and influencer for Jovan’s Diesel 'Ha(u)te Couture'. “We are honoured and humbled to be chosen as best production company by the New York Festivals. It took 11 weeks of night shoots and 750 people to create the 82 minute Battle of Winterfell, making it the longest continuous battle ever committed to film. Stink Founder and President Daniel Bergmann appointed as chair of the 2019 AICP Show

The AICP has appointed Stink Founder and President Daniel Bergmann as chair of the 2019 AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the American Commercial. In this role, he will oversee the AICP Show Committee, which is responsible for promoting and marketing the AICP Show, as well as facilitating the judging process and selection of judges. “AICP is an organisation that has done so much to bring us together as an industry. As the first continental European to be chair, it is one of my goals to share with the production and film community what I have learned from working globally throughout my career. I hope I can bring something fresh and inspiring from my experience.” This year the competition has launched a category for Best New Director and will be naming a Marketer of the Year.
