Hana Knizova is a Czech-born photographer currently working out of Prague. She studied at the London College of Communication and graduated with a master’s degree in photography.
Her work focuses on interpersonal relationships and often takes the form of intimate, conceptual portrait series, following family members, community members, and lovers over an extended period of time. Hana’s ability to connect with her subjects allows her visual language to explore themes of identity, personal aspirations, and psychological depths, all conveyed through a natural and intimate aesthetic.
Her work is regularly exhibited and has led to international awards. She received the prestigious John Kobal New Work Award from London’s National Portrait Gallery, and she was further honoured with the Photographer of the Year Prize by Czech Grand Design.
Her commissioned work includes clients such as Alexander McQueen, A magazine, Adidas, Dazed & Confused, Forbes, King Kong magazine, Hugo Boss, Mute Records; National Portrait Gallery, Purple Fashion Magazine, Self-Portrait, Stella McCartney, The Telegraph, Vogue L’Uomo, & Zeist.
